Before this lens was developed you could only get zoom lenses in the B4 mount, usually 126 - 9 mm..... so not very wide, or a few years later use a cumbersome light sapping adaptor so you could use prime lenses.

I bought this lens from Optex 30 years ago for its superb optics, and very fast stop, when 4:3 was the norm. It does just cover 16:9 but with some very light shading top right vertical edge if stopped down below T4 ....but this is outside TV cutoff. The Auto Iris works. Serial No 10019.

It has just been professionally overhauled so there's no dust or marks on the internal elements, but there is a small area of cosmetic paint crazing on the outside of the barrel.

The field of view is almost exactly the same as my i-phone 6s...see street scene photos with red car. Supplied with Samcine metal case.
