Extra Information I have owned this from new and used this gimbal with a GH4 and standard 12-35mm lens – it works well with this and other similar weight cameras. (I used this to shoot some sequences for TV programmes.)
Capacity: 1Kg max.
Although lower capacity than many modern gimbals, it is also smaller than most (except for smartphone gimbals) and lighter than some. It is well made, all metal, in a hard case.
Certainly it does not have some of the features of more recent gimbals but if you have a light-weight camera set up and want smooth moving footage this works well, for a low price.
The video manual is at:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pR-Q5D5hj4
It has 3 modes, which are selected by pressing the red button:
(see the video user manual from 14:16 for explanations)
- Profile 1: Follow Mode: a gradual turn and it will smoothly follow [14:36 in video]
- Profile 2: Semi Follow Mode: Pitch and Roll are locked, Yaw is follow mode [14:46 in video]
- Profile 3: Lock Mode: Pitch, Roll and Yaw are all locked [15:11 in video]
They key is to balance it first with the power OFF (as with all gimbals) – see the video manual starting at 2:47 for details on how to balance. (You must not turn the power on without a camera on it and with it balanced, otherwise it will try really hard to balance .. nothing. This is the same with all gimbals.)
There is a video on balancing from a new user:

see 6:54 onwards
It looks a little awkward to balance using the hex screws (and first time, it takes a bit of time) but when you’ve done it a few times, it doesn’t take long (and if you keep the same setup, it doesn’t need to be re-balanced of course). And if you do have a few different setups then put a few white marks on the gimbal where the standard camera configurations balance, to get very close very quickly.
Review of the Nebula 4000 gimbal:

Supplied with an additional external battery (see pics, incl one with LEDs) which is used to re-charge the internal gimbal when on location.
It is in the original hard case, with charger and the 2 x allen keys. |
